Do I need an account?

Yes, a free one. The launcher signs you in through this site. The same account plays through the launcher or through Steam; a Steam copy links to it the first time you launch.

What does the launcher do?

It installs the game, keeps it patched in the background, and signs you in through this site so it never sees your password. It stays in the tray only if you tell it to. The download page has it.

Can I gift it?

Yes. Buy it as a gift on the store page and enter their email address. They get an invitation, make an account, verify the address, and the game is waiting on it.

Refunds?

See the refund policy. Ask from your orders page. For anything else, write to support@playspacetime.com.

Does it send anything home?

Beyond the game itself, only what you agree to. Crash reports are opt-in in the launcher's settings; the privacy policy says exactly what one contains.
